Launching in a Covid year

When we started out in January of 2020, we were really planning for the festivals. We had gotten into the Makers Festival in Ormewood Park and were so excited for it.  It would be our first festival! We then also got into Kirkwood Spring Fling and couldn't hardy contain our excitement.

And then Covid struck.

The festival circuit was canceled and with it our hopes.  So between the panic of covid, our new work from home lives and preparing to become educators for our kids, Coffyn Pyes took a back seat. But not for long.....because it was still at the back of our minds.

Right before July 4th weekend, Maribeth came over and said " let's make pyes".  We started in our kitchens, rolling dough, making fillings, rotating between our houses.  We kept working till we invented a brand new "frozen" product. Little did we know that it these beautiful frozen beauties were destined for the homes of families in Grant Park, Ormewood Park and surrounding neighborhoods.

We launched July 4th weekend of 2020 and sold out.  Next thing you know, the frozen product was really taking over our hot product and seemed to fit with Covid needs.  People loved having these frozen pyes in their freezers.

Thanks to Covid, a new product line was born and while everything was crazy and uncertain, we were certain of one thing -- that we were going to keep making pyes.
